Councillors Laura Dudas, Jenna Sudds and Carol Anne Meehan are pleased to announce a new pilot project allowing Ottawa residents to park their vehicles at select Park & Ride stations during Winter Weather Parking Bans.
“I am very glad that OC Transpo was able to introduce this project, and I am confident this will help address the need for suburban residents to have easy access to off-street parking during a ban.” said Councillor Dudas.
The pilot project takes effect today, and will be implemented at:
- Riverview Park and Ride (map)
- Innovation Park and Ride (map)
- Chapel Hill Park and Ride (map)
- Nepean Woods Park and Ride (map)
When a winter weather parking ban is called, residents will be allowed to park
their vehicles in designated parking spaces at these OC Transpo Park and Rides.
This is in addition to free parking already offered overnight during parking bans at select
parking garages.
These Park and Ride locations were chosen as part of a pilot project to provide more parking options to residents during a Winter Weather Parking Ban. The locations will be monitored throughout the remainder of the winter.
During a winter weather parking ban, residents are reminded that there is no parking on city streets so that crews can plow easily and effectively. Vehicles parked on the street during a winter weather parking ban may be ticketed and towed. On-street parking permit holders are exempt from this restriction.
