One of the most joyful events I organize each year is my Annual Dog Swim — a fun and energetic way to celebrate the end of summer with our four-legged family members. Held annually at Bearbrook Pool, this event gives dogs the chance to take over the pool for one final splash before it closes for the season.

As a dog owner myself, I know how much many of our pups love to swim, and this event is all about giving them a safe space to do just that, while also bringing our community together. Whether your dog is a confident swimmer or just curious about the water, they’re welcome to join in the fun.

Bearbrook Pool is transformed into a dog-friendly zone at the end of the day and it’s always a joy to see dogs of all breeds and sizes paddling around, chasing toys, and making new furry friends.

The Dog Swim is also a great opportunity for residents to connect, share stories, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon outdoors. I work with city staff and volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly,  and yes, there are always plenty of wagging tails and smiling faces.

Event details, including date and time, are posted on my website and shared through my newsletter and social media.

I look forward to seeing you and your pups at Bearbrook Pool for the next Dog Swim. It’s one of my favourite ways to wrap up the summer — with splashes, smiles, and a whole lot of tail-wagging fun!
