Third Annual Gems of Innes Awards
The Gems of Innes Awards has become one of the things I most look forward to each year. Aside from the obvious fun of getting to honour some of the outstanding organizations and businesses of the East End with a Gem of Innes award, I absolutely love hearing all the wonderful nomination stories and experiences shared by the community. Orléans truly has so much to offer and of which to be proud.
I am pleased to share the following winners of the Third Annual Gems of Innes Awards, including our first “twinners”!
Head on over to LauraDudas.ca/Gems2022 to learn more about this year’s winners!
Lifeguard Shortage
The City of Ottawa has had trouble recruiting lifeguards this year and are actively working to fill empty positions at pools and beaches across the city. Lifeguarding is a great summer job opportunity and can even be a great steppingstone for those who may be considering a career in public service later on. Interested candidates may visit Ottawa.ca/recjobs to learn more about the current opportunities and submit their application.
Splashpad and Summer Amenities
The summer’s heat is officially here, and I for one am grateful for our community pools and splashpads! For those looking to cool down, a splashpad or pool is often no more than a short trip away. Visit Ottawa.ca/en/recreation-and-parks/swimming# for a full list of splashpads and pools in the East End.
