The demonstrations we are seeing in downtown Ottawa are unlike any that our city has seen before. What we are seeing in our core is categorically not a protest or rally. The organizers themselves have been clear: holding the City of Ottawa hostage as leverage for their demands is their declared intent. As well, that they have no intention of ending their campaign and leaving our city.
We need our city back.
