
On June 20, 2025, I partnered with the Council on Aging to host another edition of my Senior’s Tea Speaker Series at a local favourite, Café Amore (2409 St. Joseph Boulevard). This session featured an engaging and informative presentation by Joanne Roulston, focused on what seniors need to know about the pension system and key strategies for protecting their income.
Joanne is a member of the Council on Aging of Ottawa’s Expert Panel on Income Security. She is a lawyer, mediator, and social worker, and teaches part-time at Carleton University’s School of Social Work. Her past roles include Director of the National Council of Welfare and Senior Policy Advisor on seniors, pensions, and disability at Social Development Canada.
