If you followed my updates during last year’s City budget, you’ll know that I secured funding for an engineering study, the first step toward expanding the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Centre – Orléans with a brand-new gymnasium.
I’m thrilled to share that the project has progressed faster than I ever expected. The study and preliminary work were completed just a few weeks ago, and since then, I’ve been in active discussions with our incredible Member of Parliament, Marie-France Lalonde, about how I can turn this long-standing community vision into reality.
And now, I’m beyond excited to announce that the Bob MacQuarrie expansion has been officially identified by name as one of more than 20 national projects to receive infrastructure funding in the Federal Budget.
This is a huge milestone. While we’re still in the early stages and many details are yet to be finalized, it’s incredibly rewarding to see my advocacy paying off. We are closer than ever to breaking ground on a project that will bring much-needed recreational space to our growing community.
You can see high level design and concept drawings below. I will be organizing a full information session for the community soon.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative over the years. Your voices have helped make this possible, and I’m so excited to be taking this next step with you.
Stay tuned for updates!
